Daily Devotional Series from Victory Church
Thanksliving Day 6
We are all familiar with “Top Ten” lists… the top ten movies of the year, the top ten sports plays of all time, the top ten richest people in the world. These lists fascinate us and capture our attention to discover what is considered the biggest and the best.
Robertson McQuilkin was the former president of Columbia International University and when he was faced with a particularly difficult time in his life (facing his wife’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and the death of his son), he chose to escape by retreating to the mountains for some time alone with God and with his thoughts. He spent the day fasting and in prayer and as a result, compiled a list of the “Top Ten” gifts he had been given by God. This list identified ten particular blessings that Robertson could not fathom that God would have deemed his worthy of. He could hardly find the words to thank God for these blessings.
Looking back over your life, what blessings have you been given that are so BIG that you cannot even begin to form words to thank God? What is on your own “Top Ten” list?

Devotional Scripture
“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
“Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”
“Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay them?”
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.” – Romans 11: 33-36
