Living In The Moment
Daily Devotional Series - Day 33
Reading: Ecclesiastes 9:1-10
So what happens when we die? On this point, the wise teacher is stumped. He has no idea. The wise die. The righteous die. The fools die. The wicked die. What’s waiting for us? All he can say is, “The righteous are in God’s hands.” But we have to remember that pre-Jesus, no one knew. Everyone died and no one got back up. All you knew is that God knew. We are truly in his hands. Not our hands. His hands. Your life is NOT in your hands. Wow. You are NOT the sum of the good minus the bad your hands have done. You are already saved. You are in his hands.
Today, we know how true that is. We have a vision of God that Solomon did not. In John 14, Jesus was talking about going back to heaven. He told his disciples that he was going to his father’s house to get things ready for them and that he was going to come back for them. They were a little confused.
They didn’t know where he was going and how could they be expected to get there. Jesus said the well known words, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Solomon figured out something that Jesus shows us. Those who walk with God will end up on the right side of things. So go ahead and have a great time! Your future is secure. So what happens when we die? It might look a little like this.
