Living In The Moment
Daily Devotional Series - Day 18
Reading: Ecclesiastes 5:10-12
A few months ago I posted the following: “I need some help: Name a time when someone shared something with you but you thought they were nuts only to have that thing eventually revolutionize how you do/view/l something.” Tim La Fazia responded, “In the mid 80’s a friend of mine tried to convince me to invest with him in retail storage units for the average consumer. I thought he was crazy! I didn’t invest… he did :)”
Do you have more than you need? Do you have a collection in your house of things that have value but provide no real value to your life? Is it just a feast for the eyes? Is there room in your garage for your car? What can you do today to make a change?
We are the richest nation in the world and yet we can’t get enough. We have problems that we could solve and yet we don’t. We trust in money and can’t sleep. Those who let go and trust God sleep really, really, well. More on this later.
“As goods increase,
so do those who consume them.
And what benefit are they to the owners
except to feast their eyes on them?”
