Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. – Proverbs 27:1
Daily Devotional Series from Victory Church
How many of us say, “I will get to it tomorrow?” or “maybe tomorrow?” If you think about it, that statement can be a bold one. Obviously, we all know tomorrow is never guaranteed but we assume we will wake up just like we did today and move forward. I mention this because recently I had a friend pass away very unexpectedly.
He was playing ping-pong and during that ping-pong match, he breathed his last breath. I know for a fact he had plans and aspirations to watch more Aztec football and basketball, spend time with his wife and family. It was sudden, it was unexpected and his earthly tomorrow did not come. However, he was a believer, he Loved Jesus and his earthly time, while short, now has become a tomorrow without a question mark. He is living in the presence of Jesus and his tomorrow will never end. Think about your life today, be prepared, we do not know when the Lord will come or when he will take us away through our earthly passing.
We need to live for today, pray, go out and rejoice, spend time with your family, and if that earthly tomorrow does not come, we know we will safely be resting in the arms of Jesus. Pray for others who do not know our Lord, give us opportunities to proclaim your Good News! Amen!
