“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

Grace & Truth Day 14
Reading: John 15
It’s just a matter of hours now before Jesus dies. The disciples don’t know it, but Jesus does. Starting in John 13, Jesus gives his last words. We know, the last words are usually the most important words.
So what does Jesus want for his disciples? What does he want for those who follow him? What does he want for us? What does he want for you? He wants you to bear fruit. A lot of it. Grapes come in bunches again and again.
What is that fruit? The kind that comes from being connected to Jesus as your source of life. Every area of your life should be inspired and influenced by Him. Part of the fruit is your general attitude: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23. Not just one of those things, but ALL of them.
Then ATTITUDE will influence your actions and in your attitude and actions you will bring glory to God attract people to him (make disciples.)
Too often I hear, “I need to work on patience…or one of the other fruits.” These are things we cannot work on. It only comes by staying connected to Jesus and then it comes naturally. How is your connection?
